To keep me in the mood while writing

My genre is horror-supernatural.  I write in silence most of the time, but when I do play music, I want to be listening to something that will keep me in the mood.

Brown Bird "Seven Hells"

Lyrics:
The seventh hell inside us impales and divides us
And scatters our skin with the seed
Of our deeds devoured, on other worlds showered
As our demon celestials bleed
The seventh heaven's promise, the Gospel of Thomas
The Shahadat's secrets are saved
As the dead and the sleeping still fear a flesh reaping
And gather their gold for the grave
In bonds of conscience respiration fails
Blind suffocation proceeds
By floodwaters swallowed, the proprium of whales
Shed these lung spires and breathe
Eyes end in flames and the brow settles
Sunk cheek to jaw
Lips forming shame and the mind's metal
Floods one and all
Laws of men lay claim to all those without shame
Who enlighten themselves with the lies
That our souls are bound to the deafening sounds
As the megaphones fill up the skies
In bonds of conscience respiration fails
Blind suffocation proceeds
By floodwaters swallowed, the proprium of whales
Shed these lung spires and breathe
Eyes end in flames and the brow settles
Sunk cheek to jaw
Lips forming shame and the mind's metal
Floods one and all
No sacred sound remains unscathed despite the fall
No shouting shafts of light are saved
No demon's peace prescribed for pain to one and all
No foul façade left saving face

Just to help the writing along a little...

2000 words so far, 250 words away from 10,000 .. and my best friend hands me this... do NOT believe her when she says it was my suggestion.

And now I'm frittering time looking for gin quotes.

“Gin is a confusing drink. It’s the only liquid that’s both wet and dry.”
― Jarod Kintz, 99 Cents For Some Nonsense

“I feel wonderful and sad. It's the gin.”
― Stephen Beresford, The Last of the Haussmans

I'll stick with gin. Champagne is just ginger ale that knows somebody.
M*A*S*H, Hawkeye, "Ceasefire," 1973

And the sooner the tea's out of the way, the sooner we can get out the gin, eh?
Henry Reed (Hilda of Private Life)

The only time I ever enjoyed ironing was the day I accidentally got gin in the steam iron.
Phyllis Diller

First releases by Netta Newbound

This week, on Amazon, Netta Newbound has released two books.  I've read both and recommend them if you enjoy character driven stories that you don't want to put down because you just have to know what happens next, and now! Download to Kindle or other e-book reader and Impossible Dilemma is available in paperback.

Mother Knows Best is a novella about Ruby Fitzroy whose annoyingly over protective mother has believed the worst will befall one of her two daughters. Sick and tired of living in fear, Ruby arranges a date without her mother’s knowledge.

On first impressions, charming and sensitive Cody Strong seems perfect. When they visit his home overlooking the Welsh coast, she meets his delightful father Steve and brother Kyle. But it isn’t long before she discovers all is not as it seems.

After a shocking turn of events, Ruby’s world is blown apart. Terrified and desperate, she prepares to face her darkest hour yet.

Will she ever escape this nightmare?

And tomorrow Netta's novel Impossible Dilemma  is released.  Local vets Jennifer and Jonathan Lyons seem to have everything—a perfect marriage, a beautiful five-year-old daughter, Emily, and a successful business. Until they discover Emily has a rare and fatal illness.

Early trials show that a temporary fix would be to transplant a hormone from a living donor. However in the trials; the donors had died within twenty four hours. They have no choice but to accept their daughter is going to die.

When Jonathan is suddenly killed in a farming accident, Jennifer turns to her sick father-in-law, Frank, for help. A series of events present Jennifer and Frank with a situation that, although illegal, could help save Emily.

Will they take it?

Nanowrimo

November is National Novel Writing month.  This is the second year that I have participated, last year I wrote a contemporary novel titled "Prime" and achieved the 50,000 words in a rough draft which is stored away for another look down the track. I remember writing so much "back story" that I didnt get the story finished even though I had completed the 50,000 words.

This year I am writing "The Dark Hours", a macabre tale about a young woman who goes back to her childhood home to seek refuge and escape the unhappiness and insominia that plagues her, only to find returning home is also a return to the nightmares that haunted her during the dark hours. I've done a little planning but find the story evolves more as my fingers are typing on the keyboard.

I have played around with images for the Nanowrimo site, these covers are NOT intended for the sale of the book, should I get that far with it.

A site recommended to me and used by friends is fiverr.
